Thanks for being part of the Sweet Science family. Our goal is to make sure you have fun while getting a good work out and we are constantly striving to improve upon the experience.

We love our new space! It gives us the ability to do so much more. Feel free to come early and work out prior to class time. One of us arrives by 6pm (sometimes earlier) and can stay after to work on additional skills. Everyone has different goals with respect to their own fitness regimen. The great thing about boxing is there is a continuous learning curve. For example, I have been doing it for almost 9 years and am still "perfecting" my technique. If you have an area that you feel you need to concentrate on, please ask for some one-on-one time on class days and we can give you pointers to help you improve. Personal training is also available for a fee over and above your membership.

Recently added is the INSTRUCTOR BOARD. Check this board for who is teaching each night through the month. We will also add special programs to it as they occur.

As for programs, we have heard that you want to do more sparring. Students that are ready to get in the ring are encouraged to do so. However, make sure you have your own mouth guard (available through us) and are paired up with someone of similar size and ability. You will be required to wear head gear (your own or ours). Sparring is an entirely different than a "mitts and gloves" workout, with a greater risk for injury. As the schedule allows, Tom will conduct specific classes in this skill. Look on the new Instructor Board for the "Sparring with Tom" classes. The next one is this coming Sunday, November 9th at 7pm.

Do you need to brush up on the basics? Starting, Tuesday, November 11, we will be adding a "Beginners Basics" class. This will be held from 5:45-6:15pm. You are welcome to stay for the second class at 6:30. Since this is a short class and we will be working on the basic skill set, please be at the gym by 5:30 and wrapped and ready to go on time. If this becomes a popular addition, we will add this to the schedule on other nights.

Saturday morning!!! We know it is hard for everyone to work out in the mornings, so Saturday is traditionally under-attended. We have gone back and forth with moving the class to 10AM. Would you be more inclined to attend it we started 30 minutes later? Let us know. We will have rotating instructor coverage on that day.

Membership Dues. We strive to find the best way to make sure you are all current on your dues. We have always been flexible and know that things such as business travel or illness can put you out of commission from the gym for short periods. For now, please consult the Dues Due board when you come in. We try to keep up with the due dates, but sometimes we just miss things. We can do invoicing or due date emails if you feel that would better remind you. Keep in mind, that the 3 month package ($155) is your best deal if you come regularly (2x per week or more).
